My Working Journey

Personal Profile

As a UX designer, I apply my skills and knowledge in UX design (and previous business analysis, and DevOps engineering roles) to deliver user-centered solutions. I have Five years of professional experience in the digital product field, and various other professional experiences that have helped curate a high quality skills set. This is build on a educational foundation in a BSc Information Technology Management for Business (ITMB) and a PGCert in audio and visual post production.

I harness a collaborative user-centered design approach to understand their needs, frustrations, and goals, in order to design intuitive, engaging, and delightful end user focused solutions that improve their experience .

UX/UI designer August 2022 – August 2024. The below work was carried out in various cross-functional product teams that harnessed an agile mindset to deliver digital products or services for financial services clients and in house capabilities. ❯ UX/UI Design: I was engaged in multiple fast-paced projects and RFP responses, delivering design artefacts throughout the design process. I applied appropriate design approaches, such as Human- Centred Design (HCD), User-Centred Design (UCD), and Data-Driven Design (DDD), depending on the project needs. My responsibilities included conducting and supplying user research insights, as well as designing and testing prototypes in various fidelity forms. ❯ User Research: I participated in the discovery and testing phases of projects, utilising a range of methodologies and techniques to uncover insights and communicate findings to stakeholders, shaping the product or service. ❯ Service Design: Supported service delivery projects by applying design and system thinking methodologies to these. Responsibilities included creating service blueprint diagrams, facilitating workshops, and developing as well as testing solutions through prototyping. It supplied me the opportunity to fine tune a range of skills from business skills such as management, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to technical IT skills such as solution architecture, blockchain and IOT technologies and working with languages on a big data project.

Consultant work out of DXC Technology for Vodafone and working within their Big Data Quality Assurance (BDQA) Team. As part of the QA team it was our main responsibility to capture issues from test packages, developed by data engineers, when passing them through our QA test environment before pushing these packages into a production environment. My main responsibility in this operation was the managing and assisting of progression the QA teams test environment through its development lifecycle and its operational capabilities through the continuous integration pipeline. A second responsibility as a member of the QA team, was to help with a proof of concept for an automated pipeline for the above activities. This involved working closely with clients to gain an understanding of the current system and process in place from development to production and producing various design documents for implementation. Whilst working with the QA team and Vodafone I have been exposed to various DevOps tools and various flavours of Linux such as Vagrant, Git, Jenkins, CentOS and Ubuntu.
